Cleaning
Use a soft, clean cloth to gently wipe the surface of the crystal regularly to remove dust and dirt. Avoid using hard materials that may scratch the crystal.
Water Cleaning:
Soap Solution Cleaning: If the crystal is relatively dirty, you can prepare a mild soap solution. Dip a soft cloth in the solution and gently wipe the crystal, then rinse it with clean water and dry it. But make sure to avoid using strong alkaline or acidic cleaning agents.
Avoiding Damage
Crystals are generally brittle and should be kept away from hard objects to avoid collisions that could cause cracks or breakage. When storing or wearing crystals, be careful not to knock them against other items.
Avoiding High Temperatures:
Protecting from Chemicals: Keep crystals away from chemicals such as perfumes, lotions, and cleaning agents. These substances may react with the crystal surface and cause damage or discoloration. When applying cosmetics or chemicals, it is advisable to remove crystal jewelry first.
Storage
Crystals should be stored separately to prevent scratches and collisions between them. You can use soft pouches or jewelry boxes with separate compartments to store each crystal.
Proper Environment:
Store crystals in a dry, cool, and dark place. Excessive humidity can cause moisture to accumulate on the crystal surface, which may lead to corrosion or mildew. A dark environment helps to prevent the crystal from fading due to light exposure.
Energetic Cleansing
Burn sage or palo santo and pass the crystal through the smoke to purify its energy. This is a common method in some spiritual traditions.
Moonlight Bath:
Place the crystal under the moonlight, especially on a full moon night. The moonlight is thought to have a purifying and energizing effect on the crystal. However, be careful with some crystals that may be affected by moisture in the air during the night.
